Gulf States Mycological Society: Summer Foray

Guest Mycologists: Dr. Brian Akers of St. Andrews Presbyterian College, Laurinberg, NC. His presentation topic will be the genus Lepiota. Also invited to speak is Dr. Bart Buyck of the National Museum of Natural History in Paris, France (topic, the genus Russula).

December 2000 Program: "Mushrooms of North Florida and the Gulf Coast." Tallahassee, FL. Presented by Bill Petty, member of Gulf States Mycological Society and NAMA, who has been studying the fungi of north Florida for 17 years. Bill discussed mushroom identification and gave a slide show.

NAMA/Gulf States Mycological Society Regional Foray: December 1 - 3, 2000. Wakulla Springs, Florida.
This regional foray was held at beautiful Wakulla Springs State Park, located 15 miles south of Tallahassee, Florida. Dr. Thomas Volk of the University of Wisconsin - La Crosse was the foray's guest mycologist, speaking on the topic "What Is A Species?"
