Energy Efficiency in Interior Design: a 5-hour course for practicing interior design professionals. Approved for State of Florida continuing education credits; Center for Professional Development and Public Service, Florida State University. Sole instructor for two offerings, Miami and Orlando, FL (1994).

Arid Lands Design: a week-long course for professionals addressing design techniques for application in arid regions. UPM. Lecturer for three sessions dealing with comfort and mechanical systems, Dhahran, three offerings (1985-1988).

Computer-Aided Design and Drafting: a week-long course for professionals addressing applications for computer-aided design and drafting in environmental design. UPM. Workshop presenter for session dealing with lighting and cooling load analysis programs, Dhahran, two offerings (1988, 1989).

Building Maintenance: a week-long course for professionals dealing with design and operational strategies for building maintenance -- including economic analysis techniques. UPM. Energy Conservation in Building Design: a week-long course for professionals addressing energy conservation opportunities in the design of various building systems. Responsible for course development. UPM. Course coordinator and major lecturer, Dhahran (1986).

Earth Sheltered Housing: a one-day program for the general public: various facets of earth sheltered housing -- including architectural considerations, energy conservation, waterproofing, structures, and comfort. Responsible for portions of course development and updating. OSU. Co-instructor for 30 offerings of this course presented in Oklahoma, Montana, Wyoming, Arkansas, and Nebraska; sole instructor for two offerings in Missouri and Texas (1977-1984).

Design and Analysis of Earth Sheltered Structures: a two-day course for professionals: detailed considerations related to design of earth sheltered buildings. Responsible for portions of course development and updating. OSU. Co-instructor for 15 offerings of this course presented in California, Colorado, Texas, Illinois, Missouri, Massachusetts, Virginia, Arizona, and Oklahoma (1977-1982).

Alternative Energy Systems: a one-day course for the general public: various aspects of energy conservation and utilization -- including solar energy systems, wind power, and water power. Responsible for course development. OSU. Lead instructor for 3 offerings of this course in Oklahoma (1978-1980).

Earth Sheltered Housing II: a one-day course for the general public providing an advanced introductory course on earth sheltered housing. Responsible for portions of course development. OSU. Co-instructor for 2 offerings of this course in Oklahoma (1983-1984).

Earth Sheltered Housing: shortened version of the Earth Sheltered Housing course described above; presented to Oklahoma Board of Realtors via Oklahoma Talkback Television System. OSU. Sole instructor for 1 offering (1983).

Earth Sheltered Housing: a substantially modified version of the earth shelter short course for the public described above; presented as a five-hour long teleconference to thirty institutional members of the National University Teleconference Network. Responsible for script development, material revisions, and presentation of portions of the program. OSU. Co-instructor for 1 offering (1983).

COORDINATION OF COURSE DEVELOPMENT

Coordinator of the Academic Partners Program of the Florida Design Initiative. The program supported the development by Florida universities and community colleges of five continuing education courses for design professionals. Responsible for proposal and contract requirements, review of proposals, ongoing contact with developers, and critique of content as presented at pilot course offerings (1995-1996).
